My Journey.

My parents immigrated from India to the U.S., providing us with the opportunity to pursue our dreams. As an 8-year-old, acculturation and adjusting to a new life was challenging, but in hindsight, it was worth every sacrifice they made.

I earned a B.S. in Criminology with a minor in psychology. After years of struggling with depression, a university advisor suggested therapy during my last undergraduate semester.

I found the counseling process transformative and was inspired to complete my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University, Fresno, in 2007.

Following years of therapy practice, I took a break to explore yoga's healing benefits, completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa, India.

Training for 25 days straight away from my family was challenging but fulfilling, leading to spiritual, physical, and mental growth. I knew this gift could be shared with future clients and yoga students.

Today, I am a wife, mother, and an adjunct instructor at California State University, Fresno, in the Department of Counseling and Rehabilitation. I co-own Rooted Heart Yoga, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training school, and teach at Four Corners Yoga. Additionally, I founded Namaste for Compassion, a yoga non-profit serving underserved communities, and continue my private practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
